Life's thunderous silence can sometimes be a good thing. I ran into my best friend from high school while visiting my parents this past weekend. Sean. what a blast from the motherfucking past! I'd stumbled across his myspace page about a week before (I like that Live Journal marks Myspace as misspelled. Jealousy perhaps?) and had sent a friend request. So it's not like he was some totally buried memory at that point. It was just a shock to go to Borders and see him at the register. I couldn't help but laugh. He didn't recognize me at first. I suppose that's fair. What did I buy at Borders you didn't ask? Well, the latest edition of Magnet magazine, mainly because they had a best alums of 07 list, and I'm a sucker for those (Ween was number 1. Interesting.) I also picked up the book 'The God Delusion' by Richard Dawkins. He basically puts forth that atheism is the only rational alternative, and any religious beliefs are to be given no quarter, that they only detract from our quality of life, and truly benefit no one. Thank you someone for saying it. Any sort of worship to a supernatural deity, no matter how noble the intentions, is foolish, and a waste of time. It really helped me get off the fence with my spiritual apathy (agnosticism) and realize that the idea of God is total bullshit. I can't say I reject God, I never embraced him in the first place. Nietzsche wasn't quite right when he said god is dead. God isn't. Never was. And it's foolish and naive to believe otherwise. Still looking for love in all the wrong... well actually, still hoping it finds it's way here. Oh Amber.
